The Restaurant Manager oversees the daily operation of all food and beverage services at the Bohemian Club with emphasis on a la carte dining, buffet services, and banquet services. Most time at work will be spent in coordinating the setup, execution, and breakdown of club events as well as private events. The Restaurant Manager promotes a sense of hospitality and professionalism at all times, taking a "hands-on" approach in the direction of staff. The Restaurant Manager is expected to be highly visible and accessible to the membership at all times.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering superior service and maximizing member satisfaction.
  • Coordinating and executing the timely delivery of food and beverage during all events based on needs outlined in BEO's.
  • A clear and direct approach to managing staff.
  • Hiring, training, and supervising staff members in accordance with the Bohemian Club service standards.
  • Being on the floor for all dining room services, directing service and lending a hand where needed to ensure members are properly served.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the front of house and back of the house.
  • Communicating with select vendors to maintain par levels of inventories.
  • Scheduling Servers and Bussers while adhering to Union Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Bohemian Grove

During the major Grove events, the Restaurant Manager will assist in managing the Dining Circle and Restaurant/Bar. This includes hiring, scheduling, training and supervising the seasonal workforce. In addition, he/she will be expected to participate with member services outside of the Dining Circle whenever the need arises.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • BA degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent
  • Keen interest in club management and a desire to become operationally involved in all aspects of club management.
  • Previous food and beverage experience.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of food and wine.
  • Outgoing and accommodating personality.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Diligent work ethic. Must be willing to put in hours needed to ensure successful events, including nights and weekends.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.
  • Highly professional demeanor, adaptability, flexibility.
  • Ability to adhere to wine and food service policies, procedures, safety, and sanitation.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Ability to use a POS system.
  • Ability to work all shifts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

Other:

  • Stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, up to eight hours per day
  • Perform occasional bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis
  • Able to work flexible and/or late hours as needed.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Compensation is open and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Club managers receive most holidays and weekends off as well as a generous benefits package which includes, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K contribution, paid holidays, 10 days vacation (first year), and 9 days combined PTO/Sick Time per year.
